Hey everyone,
I just want to let you know that Doug and Duffy's book is really a work of art. This book is a merging or technical strategy, practical know how, great insights, and its roll on the floor Funny! If you have not picked up this book do so now. I have learned from these two ministry Vets. It reads like a conversation between friends, two weird friends, then you, but you see their 97 years of combined ministry expereince shine through. It will soon become one of your favorites for it light hearted humor and practicality.
Later,

Kenn

(is this board new? I've never seen it before...)

Hey Kealnt, thanks for the tip. I've been hesitant to pick it up because I heard Doug talk at a conference about speaking to teenagers, and I thought it would just be the same thing. But obviously it didn't have too much of a lasting impression on me because I don't even remember the acronym he uses. :) I remember the seminar being great, though.

I was wanting to get that book. In fact I was telling my husband last night that I need to learn how to speak to teenagers. Sometimes I feel like I don't know how to connect with them. I can talk about shopping and other frivilous stuff, but when it comes down to ministry I'm lost.

I just got done reading this book. This is one of the best speaking books I have besides "Communicating for a Change" By Stanley which they site in this. I have also been to the PDYM Conference where one of the Teaching Pastors conducted a break out session on how the crew at Saddleback "CRAFTED" their messages. I also heard Doug speak about this at a youth ministry conference. Then to top it off - I purchased the DVD confrences with Rick Warren. All that to say that this book is a must read for anybody who is serious about communicating truth. I would also recommend this book to SP's. Thats my two cents worth.
